Prayagraj : To ensure smooth and pollution-free transportation for devotees and pilgrims within the Magh Mela campus, the authorities will launch golf cart seater services on the Mela ground from Dec 26, reports Kapil Dixit. Apart from ensuring foolproof security and safety arrangements for millions of devotees who will flock to Magh Mela from Jan 3, the authorities have decided to launch golf cart seater services for the first time at the fair.Mela Adhikari and vice-chairman (Prayagraj Development Authority) Rishiraj said that the service is being introduced in view of the difficulties faced by elderly and women devotees in walking long distances on the Mela ground. A company from Nagpur, KKC Group, will operate this service. The company has also set up its cart station equipped with the charging facilities at the Parade Ground. The company’s local manager, Rohit Mishra, says that in the first phase, 20 golf cart seaters will be operated and the number can be increased to 50 in the future depending on the requirement. Sixteen-seater and 11-seater carts have already arrived at the charging station on Parade Ground of the Magh Mela area. The golf cart service will operate on all the major routes on the campus. It will be completely pollution-free as it is battery-operated. After discussions with the Mela authorities fare rates willbe fixed.
