Prayagraj: The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) will conduct the preliminary examination for recruitment of lecturers (male/female) in Govt Inter Colleges (GICs) across the state on Sunday (June 14).The exam, covering subjects such as Hindi, Sanskrit, History, Geography, Economics, Physics, Urdu, Mathematics, Sociology, Biology, English, Civics and Chemistry, will be held in a single shift from 9:30 am to 11:30 am at 891 centres across 67 districts of Uttar Pradesh. A total of 3,81,605 candidates have registered for the exam.The commission has put in place elaborate security and monitoring arrangements to ensure a fair, transparent and malpractice-free examination.As part of it, all candidates will be subjected to thorough frisking and biometric verification. Iris scanning will also be conducted to eliminate the possibility of impersonation and ensure that only genuine candidates are allowed to appear in the exam.UPPSC has completed the installation of CCTV cameras at all examination centres through its authorised agency. Live CCTV streaming from every centre will be monitored from a central control room throughout the examination. Technical teams already inspected the surveillance systems and conducted mock tests of frisking and biometric verification procedures to avoid any technical glitches on examination day.To maintain confidentiality and prevent paper leaks, two sets of question papers have been prepared. Each set carries a different colour and confidential code.The final selection will remain undisclosed until shortly before the examination, when officials will be informed about the set to be used.In Prayagraj, 44 examination centres have been set up, where 17,828 candidates are expected to appear. To ensure smooth conduct of the examination, one static magistrate and one sector magistrate have been deployed at each centre.
