Hyderabad: The Aare Khatik Sangham affiliated to the All India Khatik Samaj on Friday urged the BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar to form a Meat Corporation (Khatik Corporation/Federation) and construction of Aare Khatik Atmiya Bhavan at Kokapet with Government funds.
A delegation of the Khatik leaders led by Telangana Fisheries Federation Chairman Mettu Sai Kumar and All India Khatik Samaj vice president Netikar Prem Lal met the BC Welfare Minister and submitted a memorandum with several demands. The delegation urged the Minister to start the Meat Corporation so as to benefit the people from Aare Khatik community who were living miserable lives with limited income sources. The delegation also wanted immediate construction of Jiyaguda Mandi (Slaughter House) with Government funds. They also wanted the minister to ensure construction of Aare Khatik Atmiya Bhavan at Kokapet with Government funds. They also wanted the reclassification of Aare Khatik community from BC-D to BC-A. The leaders said that the Minister had responded positively and assured that- the proposal for formation of a Khatik Corporation will be taken up for consideration. Necessary steps will be taken to provide Government funds for construction of Atmiya Bhavan at Kokapet. The Jiyaguda Slaughter House construction, for which Government has already issued orders, will be taken forward.
