Elderly woman electrocuted at coconut grove near Ambur

A 65-year-old woman was electrocuted after she stepped on a snapped live electric wire at a coconut grove in Venkatasamudram village near Ambur town in Tirupattur on Thursday.

The deceased person was identified as S. Rajammal, a native of Venkatasamudram village. She was living alone in a thatched house in the village. Initial inquiry revealed that she stepped on a snapped live electric wire when she went to collect dried coconut fronds at the coconut grove, where she works as a labourer.
