Guwahati: Two masked men riding a motorcycle allegedly threw a petrol bomb at the building housing Meghalaya’s Enforcement Directorate (ED) office in Shillong early Thursday, October 22.
Police said this was the second reported attack on a government establishment in the city in two days.
The incident occurred at the ED premises in Shillong’s Langkyrding area.
Superintendent of Police Vivek Syiem confirmed that the building sustained no structural damage and that the security guard inside discovered the incident on Thursday morning.
Investigators are analysing local CCTV footage to identify the perpetrators and trace the motorcycle used in the attack as a formal case is registered.
The strike follows similar petrol bomb incidents targeting government facilities in Laitumkhrah, Keating Road, and Kench’s Trace.
Security patrols and citywide surveillance have been intensified as police investigate the pattern.
