The price of domestic LPG cylinders in the country has been raised by ₹29, effective today (June 07). This marks the second hike in cooking gas cylinder prices within the last three months; previously, on March 7, there was a significant increase of ₹60. Following today’s hike, the price of a 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder in the national capital, Delhi, has risen from ₹913 to ₹942.
According to experts, domestic consumers are bearing the brunt of the surge in international fuel prices, which has been driven by escalating geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and volatility in the global energy market.
LPG cylinder prices vary across cities due to differing local taxes and transportation costs. Regarding metropolitan cities, this latest hike of ₹29 brings the price to ₹942 in Delhi, ₹941.50 in Mumbai, ₹968 in Kolkata, and ₹957.50 in Chennai.
Patna now has the highest cooking gas price at ₹1,069. The rate for a domestic gas cylinder stands at ₹1,028.50 in Ranchi and ₹1,015.50 in Shimla. In Uttar Pradesh, the price is ₹1,008.50 in Lucknow, ₹988.50 in Kanpur, and ₹968.55 in both Ghaziabad and Noida.
