The former Minister B. Sriramulu has criticised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for speaking about the welfare of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and backward classes while keeping by his side the former Minister B. Nagendra who siphoned off funds meant for the welfare of backward classes.

The former Minister and BJP leader B. Sriramulu has said that Congress leaders made only baseless allegations against the Union government during the Hosapete convention, while Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced a “sixth guarantee” in a bid to save his chair.
Addressing a press conference in Hubballi on Wednesday, Mr. Sriramulu said that the Union government has not meted out injustice to the Southern States but treated them all equally.
“I am ready for an open discussion on the issue. Those sitting in the Chief Minister’s chair should not mislead the public through their lies,” he said.
Mr. Sriramulu said that it is ludicrous that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi speaks about the welfare of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and backward classes while keeping by his side the former Minister B. Nagendra who siphoned off funds meant for the welfare of backward classes.
He said that governance has utterly failed in the State and the people are facing hardships because of the Congress misrule. However, the Chief Minister is busy in appeasement politics. Ever since the Congress came to power, Hindutva activists have been murdered and there is no protection for Hindus, he said.
The former Minister said that the State government has failed to release its share of funds for railway projects. There is no development in the State and no works have been initiated by several departments, including agriculture and irrigation, he said.
While the government has given guarantees, it has hiked the prices of essential commodities. Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao has shown that he has no concern for the poor by increasing fee in government hospitals, he said.
“AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge’s statement that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had prior knowledge of the Pahalgam terror attack is absurd. Is he (Kharge) the head of intelligence department,” Mr. Sriramulu asked.
On conviction of his old friend and the former Minister Gali Janardhan Reddy in an illegal mining case, Mr. Sriramulu expressed the confidence that his one-time friend will get relief in the Supreme Court and that there will be no bypoll in Gangavati.
Mr. Sriramulu released a booklet on the misrule of the Congress government on the occasion.
MLA Mahesh Tenginakai, the former MLA Ashok Katwe, BJP office-bearers, including Thippanna Majjagi, and others were present.
