Three unidentified assailants barged into the house of a local Congress leader in Janjgir-Champa district of Chhattisgarh on Friday (April 24, 2026) and opened fire, killing his son and leaving another son injured, said a senior police officer.
Janjgir-Champa Additional Superintendent of Police Umesh Kashyap told journalists that the incident took place around 12:30 a.m. in Karhi village under the jurisdiction of Birra police station. Three masked attackers arrived on a motorcycle, entered the residence of Sammelal Kashyap, and opened fire.
