Twenty-five years have passed since the formation of the state of Uttarakhand, yet healthcare facilities in the hilly areas have remain a challenge. Many mountain hospitals remain referral centers. Although the state government claims to provide better healthcare facilities to the people of the state, a campaign called “Operation Health” is currently being launched from Chaukhutia to demand improved healthcare. Amidst this campaign, Chief Minister Dhami has announced plans to upgrade the Chaukhutia Hospital to a 50-bed hospital.
Announcement to upgrade the Community Health Center Chaukhutia to a 50-bed hospital
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami stated that the government is continuously working to strengthen healthcare facilities in remote areas of the state. In this regard, Chief Minister Dhami announced plans to expand the Community Health Center in Chaukhutia, Almora district, from 30 beds to a 50-bed hospital. He also announced the provision of a state-of-the-art digital X-ray machine. This will provide local citizens with better and faster healthcare services.
Executive agency appointed for the construction of the sub-district hospital in Chaukhutia
CM Dhami stated that the government’s effort is to ensure that the people of the hills do not have to depend on larger cities for better medical facilities. To this end, the Uttarakhand Agricultural Produce Marketing Council has been appointed as the implementing agency to ensure timely completion of the construction of the sub-district hospital in Chaukhutia.
