Abhijeet Dipke, urging people to raise their voices, said: “For how long are we going to fear these people? For how long are we going to be scared of them? Now, we need to make sure that no matter what happens, if we have to go to jail, we will go to jail, but we will go for freedom. I will be the first one to go to jail.”
On the point about speaking up without fear, he recalled that his mother was very worried for him. “When I was returning from the USA, my mother cried more than she did when I was leaving for the USA. She was asking me not to return to India because she was afraid that I might get arrested. Now do we have to be afraid of being jailed just for speaking up? Everybody who is present here, their mother must be worried right now. Because you all are raising your voices.”
