Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Tuesday (November 11, 2025) expressed confidence that Maoism could be eradicated from the State before the Centre’s March 2026 deadline. He made the remarks while urging industrialists from Gujarat to invest in Chhattisgarh “without any fear” during the Chhattisgarh Investor Connect event held in Ahmedabad.

On the concluding day of his two-day Gujarat summit, CM Sai said that Maoism had long hindered industrial growth in the mineral-rich state, but the situation was rapidly improving. “Chhattisgarh is a mineral-rich state with immense industrial potential. However, development was stalled due to Naxalism. In January 2024, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi set a target to eliminate Naxalism by March 31, 2026. We are succeeding in our mission, and many key Maoist leaders have been neutralised. I am confident that Naxalism may end before the deadline,” he said.

Appealing to investors from Gujarat, the Chief Minister assured them of full government support. “I urge investors to start their businesses in Chhattisgarh. Our industries department will provide all necessary assistance,” he added.

During the event, eight Gujarat-based companies signed memoranda of understanding (MoUs) worth ₹33,000 crore with the Chhattisgarh government for proposed investments across various sectors.

Mr. Sai noted that the state had received investment proposals totalling ₹7 lakh crore over the past ten months and that similar outreach events were being organised across the country to attract more investment.

Addressing the media, the Chief Minister reiterated that Naxalism had been the biggest obstacle to Chhattisgarh’s progress. “Under the leadership of Home Minister Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi—both sons of Gujarat—we are successfully tackling this challenge. Once Naxalism ends, Chhattisgarh will scale new heights of development,” he said.

He also highlighted the government’s rehabilitation efforts for surrendered Naxalites, which include providing cash incentives, land, and housing, along with essential amenities such as water, electricity, and ration for their villages.
