CBN’s Poll Victory Gets Jagan’s Most Unusual Compliment!

In a sharp and sarcastic attack on Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, YSRCP president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has offered his “congratulations” to the TDP, police and State Election Commission (SEC) over the local body elections.

But this was no ordinary congratulatory message. It was a political attack disguised as a compliment.

“Congratulations, Team @ncbn, Police, and SEC!” Jagan wrote on X, mocking the manner in which the elections were allegedly conducted.

According to Jagan, the ruling party had perfected a new formula for winning elections — ensuring that the opposition never got a fair chance to compete.

He accused the TDP-led government of manipulating every stage of the electoral process, from nominations to counting.

In his sarcastic account of the elections, Jagan claimed that nominations, scrutiny, withdrawals, polling and counting had all been hijacked.

He alleged that opposition polling agents were obstructed or forced out, while polling percentages were manipulated.

The former Chief Minister delivered his sharpest punch with a remark questioning the very nature of the electoral exercise.

“You selected the candidates; the people never elected them!” he declared.

Jagan summed up his criticism with another sarcastic observation:

“These are no longer elections but selections!”

His remarks come amid allegations of intimidation, booth capturing and electoral irregularities during the municipal elections, particularly in Pulivendula.

The YSRCP has accused the ruling party of preventing its candidates and polling agents from participating freely in the election process.

The TDP, however, has rejected the allegations and accused YSRCP workers of creating disturbances during polling.

Jagan concluded his message by demanding electoral reforms, arguing that the need for changes to protect the democratic process had never been more evident.

The irony of his message was unmistakable. While the TDP was celebrating its electoral performance, Jagan was sarcastically congratulating the ruling party for what he alleged was an election process without genuine competition.

For Jagan, the controversy was not about who won the elections, but whether voters were genuinely allowed to choose their representatives.
