History has been created by the latest Spider-Man film, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, as it has emerged as the biggest-ever Hollywood opener in India, surpassing the mighty Avengers: Endgame.
According to early estimates, the superhero film earned a mind-boggling Rs. 61 crores nett at the Indian box office on its opening day, a figure on par with some of the biggest Indian blockbusters. Spider-Man has always been one of the strongest Hollywood brands in India, and overtaking Avengers: Endgame reflects the franchise’s massive popularity.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day achieved this monumental feat on a Thursday, leaving the trade and fans in awe. The film stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Jacob Batalon, and follows the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021). Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the superhero entertainer has opened to a historic response at the worldwide box office too.
