Banks are shut in several states today for Eid-ul-Adha (Bakri Eid)/Id-ul-Zuha. Customers planning a branch visit are advised to check local holiday schedules in advance, as bank holidays differ across states and Union Territories.On May 27, banks will remain closed in many parts of the country, including Assam, Jammu & Kashmir, Kerala due to Eid-ul-Adha celebrations.Bank customers should remember that branch services such as cheque clearance, cash deposits, demand draft issuance and other in-person banking work may be impacted during the holiday.Apart from festival-related closures, banks across India also remain shut on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month, as per Reserve Bank of India (RBI) guidelines.However, digital banking services will continue to operate normally. Customers can still access internet banking, mobile banking apps, ATMs and UPI services for fund transfers, bill payments and other transactions without interruption.Customers are advised to complete important branch-related work in advance and make use of digital banking channels to avoid inconvenience.
