Currently, the most awaited film that audiences across the globe are eagerly looking forward to is James Cameron’s Avatar: Fire and Ash, the third installment of the iconic Avatar franchise. The visual spectacle is set to hit the big screens this Friday.
Reviews for Avatar 3 have already started pouring in, and the initial response has been shocking. On popular review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, the film opened with a 70% score, which is lower than that of the first two films. While Avatar (2009) is widely regarded as a masterpiece, the second installment couldn’t quite replicate the impact of the first film.
However, Avatar: The Way of Water went on to become a mammoth box-office success, grossing over $2 billion worldwide. Its long and steady theatrical run came as a surprise to many, as the film received mixed reviews from critics and audiences. Few even believed Avatar 2 couldn’t cross $1.5 billion, but the movie did the unthinkable.
Now, the biggest question is whether James Cameron can once again work his magic and steer Avatar: Fire and Ash to massive success despite the underwhelming initial reviews.
