Andhra Pradesh Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha and R&B Minister BC Janardhan Reddy toured the Nakkapalli Mandal of the Payakaraopeta constituency. During the visit, the ministers laid the foundation stones for two proposed fish landing centers at the Boyapadu and Dondavaka coasts.
Local fishermen expressed their gratitude to the alliance government and Home Minister Anitha for performing the groundbreaking ceremony for these centers.
Following the foundation-laying ceremony, Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha addressed a meeting in Boyapadu. She noted that the fishing community had been waiting for a jetty for several years. Anitha stated that out of the three fish landing centers sanctioned for Andhra Pradesh, two were secured for the Payakaraopeta constituency.
She expressed her deep affection for the fishermen of the constituency and recalled her past experience working as a teacher in a fishing village. She emphasized that the alliance government prioritizes both development and welfare, revealing that the constituency has seen development works worth approximately ₹600 crore over a two-year period.
Anitha also mentioned that development works worth ₹100 crore were undertaken through the R&B Department. She recounted an incident where the people of Rajayyapeta village obstructed her; although the police suggested filing cases against them, she insisted that no cases be registered against anyone. She remarked that political party affiliations are relevant only during elections, whereas development and welfare take precedence once the elections are over.
She stated that a BC Welfare girls’ hostel has been secured for the constituency and that a multi-specialty hospital will also be established. Noting that there are 9,000 fisherfolk families in the constituency, she revealed that foundation stones for development works worth ₹60 crore were laid on this day alone to benefit them. Anitha emphasized that the NDA government is prioritizing fisherfolk and their villages, ensuring their all-round development.
Meanwhile, Minister BC Janardhan Reddy remarked, “Home Minister Anitha constantly focuses on the development of the Payakaraopeta constituency. Did the leaders of the ‘Godali Party’ (Axe Party) ever speak about development during their five-year tenure? Now, unable to tolerate the ongoing development, they are making reckless statements. We are accelerating development and welfare initiatives in AP.
The previous administration had crippled all systems. These jetties will be immensely beneficial to thousands of fisherfolk families. Leaders of the ‘Godali Party’ are inciting discord among castes. In the past, they harassed Amaravati farmers in various ways, and now they are obstructing capital city construction works. That is precisely why the people reduced the YCP to just 11 seats and dealt them a crushing blow, denying them even the status of the main opposition party.”
