Amazon customers, Jeff Bezos has a ‘message’ for you on all the big plans ahead, here’s what is not going to change

Jeff Bezos said that he does not want to take pride in being big, instead he wants to take pride in servicing customers Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has a message for its customers as the company pushes deeper into AI, cloud computing and other new businesses: the things that made Amazon successful will stay the same. Speaking about Amazon’s future in a Fortune interview recently, Jeff Bezos said the company’s focus will continue to be on – low prices, fast delivery and a wide selection, even as it invests billions of dollars in AI infrastructure and new technologies. The Amazon founder said he does not want the company to take pride in becoming the world’s biggest business, but instead in serving customers well, arguing that customer satisfaction has always been the real driver of Amazon’s growth.

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos says customer focus will not change

Although Amazon is expanding into AI, chips, satellite internet and healthcare, Bezos said the company’s core philosophy remains unchanged. “I don’t want us to take pride in being big,” Bezos said. “I want us to take pride in servicing customers. And it turns out, if you service customers really well, that will drive growth.”He also said customers will always value lower prices and faster deliveries.“It’s impossible to imagine a scenario where a customer would say, ‘Jeff, I love Amazon, I just wish you delivered a little more slowly.’ Or, ‘I love Amazon, I just wish your prices were a little higher,'” Bezos said. “Because you can count on those things, you can keep putting energy into them.”

Amazon doubles down on AI

As per the report, Amazon is making AI its biggest investment. The company spent $131 billion on capital expenditure in 2025 and expects to spend around $200 billion in 2026, largely on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and generative AI.The company has also signed major AI partnerships, including a multibillion-dollar agreement with Meta to use Amazon’s Graviton chips and a deal to invest up to $25 billion in Anthropic, which is expected to purchase more than $100 billion worth of Amazon cloud services.Jeff Bezos said Amazon’s chip business could become the company’s next major business pillar alongside Marketplace, Prime and AWS.“A few of our offerings have become durable pillars, things like Marketplace and Prime and AWS,” he said. “What I see right now is that our chips business, our silicon business, is lining up to be our next pillar.
