Umaji caught red-handed while accepting bribe of Rs 7,000 from a farmer in Kaddampeddur mandal centre

Nirmal: A land surveyor was arrested while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 7,000 from a farmer in Kaddampeddur mandal centre on Saturday. Anti-Corruption Bureau officials said that the accused public servant was Umaji, while the complainant was Prabhakar from Gangapur village.

Umaji was caught red-handed for accepting bribe from Prabhakar. He reportedly demanded Rs 20,000 from the farmer for issuing proceedings of a survey of his land. He had collected Rs 12,000 from Prabhakar and was harassing the farmer for the remaining bribe.

A vexed Prabhakar, approached the ACB sleuths, who in turn trapped the surveyor.
