13 women to receive Tilu Rauteli Award; CM Dhami to honour them on August 8

Thirteen women have been selected for the state’s prestigious Tilu Rauteli Award. The award ceremony will be held on August 8, 2026 at the Culture Department’s auditorium located on the Haridwar Bypass Road. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will present the awards to the selected women; the Chief Minister’s approval for this has already been received. Additionally, 35 women will be presented with the State-Level Anganwadi Worker Award.

The state government confers the Tilu Rauteli Award upon women and adolescent girls for outstanding achievements in fields such as sports, social service, and literature, marking the birth anniversary of Uttarakhand’s warrior and folk heroine, Tilu Rauteli. This award was instituted in 2006 to recognize women and adolescent girls for their remarkable contributions to women’s empowerment. According to department officials, the department received 217 applications from various districts for the Tilu Rauteli Award this year.

The applications included 21 from Almora, eight from Bageshwar, 12 each from Chamoli and Champawat, 23 from Dehradun, 22 from Haridwar, 29 from Nainital, eight from Pauri, 13 from Pithoragarh, 11 from Rudraprayag, 13 from Tehri, 11 from Udham Singh Nagar, and 24 from Uttarkashi district. Out of these, 13 women have been selected. Meanwhile, the department received 220 applications from across the state for the State-Level Anganwadi Worker Award, from which 35 women have been selected.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will honor the selected women with the awards on August 8, the birth anniversary of the heroine Tilu Rauteli. The Chief Minister’s approval for this event has been secured.
