13 daughters of Uttarakhand receive Tilu Rauteli Award; 35 Anganwadi workers also honored

Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami on August 08, 2026 honored 13 women from the state for their remarkable contributions in various fields with the ‘Tilu Rauteli Award’ and 35 Anganwadi workers with the ‘Anganwadi Worker Award’ at a ceremony held at the Mukhya Sevak Sadan, located at the Chief Minister’s Camp Office. The Chief Minister extended his congratulations and best wishes to all the award-winning women and Anganwadi workers. He stated that the birth anniversary of Tilu Rauteli is a proud occasion for Uttarakhand’s history and a celebration of the self-respect of women’s power (Nari Shakti). The braveheart Tilu Rauteli stands as an immortal symbol of indomitable courage, unparalleled valor, and women’s strength. He remarked that Uttarakhand has been a land of both brave men and brave women; whenever the courage and valor of heroines are discussed, Tilu Rauteli’s name will be mentioned with pride and respect.

He noted that the daughters of Uttarakhand have consistently enhanced the state’s prestige through their talent, courage, and capability. The Chief Minister stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, numerous significant steps have been taken across the country to ensure the honor, safety, and social and economic empowerment of women. Initiatives such as the provision for 33 percent reservation for women in Parliament and Legislative Assemblies, the ‘Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao’ campaign, Swachh Bharat Mission, Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, and ‘Lakhpati Didi’ are bringing positive changes to women’s lives. The Chief Minister added that under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the state government is also continuously working towards the empowerment of women (Matru Shakti). In the state, women have been granted 30 percent horizontal reservation in government services. Uttarakhand is the first state in the country to implement the Uniform Civil Code. Schemes such as the Chief Minister’s Small-Scale Industry Promotion Scheme, Entrepreneurship Development Programs, and interest-free loans for women’s self-help groups are being implemented to make women economically self-reliant.

Increase in prize money for Tilu Rauteli Award

He noted that Anganwadi workers act as a vital link in taking government schemes to the last person in the queue.
