1 killed, 18 injured as two buses collide head-on in Haryana

An 11th-grade student from a private school in Haryana died after two buses had a head-on collision near Bhagvi village in Haryana, earlier this morning. The accident also left 18 other students, three teachers, drivers and conductors of the two vehicles, and several passengers injured.

The incident occurred on the Dadri Birohar Road when the private school bus was heading towards Pratapgarh. The bus collided with the Haryana Roadways bus, and the collision was so severe that the former was destroyed. The state administration took swift action and sent an ambulance to the spot to rescue the injured. They were taken to the nearby hospitals; however, the 11th-grade student, identified as Ishika, could not survive.

Following the incident, Vijay Kumar, the deceased’s father, told India Today, “Ishika left home for her school tour around 8.30 am. However, an hour later, we received a message, learning about the incident, and rushed to the spot.”

When asked about the accident, the General Manager of Haryana Roadways, Naveen Sharma, told India Today, “The accident is presently under investigation, and we will only be able to tell what caused the loss of life and several injuries, only after the investigation process is complete.”

Meanwhile, another road accident was reported on National Highway 352D in Haryana’s Rewari district on Sunday, after dense fog severely reduced visibility, leading to a collision involving multiple buses.
