The Icelandic Met Office has posted a yellow alert, or road warning, for Southeast Iceland from 06:00 October 22, to 04:00 October 23. Stating gusts are possible up to 35 metres per second, with chances of blowing sand, the warning states that travel would be hazardous for vehicles sensitive to wind.
Separately, North and Northeastern Iceland are under yellow alerts due to snowstorms. The snowstorms are expected from 07:00 today, October 22, to 03:00 tomorrow.
