The Icelandic Air Traffic Controller Association (ICEATCA) has confirmed an overtime ban starting on November 25 if negotiations have not succeeded, RÚV reports. The union and Confederation of Icelandic Enterprise’s arbitration committees are set to meet on November 18.
The ICEATCA decided to pursue the actions to pressure a new labour contract as negotiations have not been successful.
In a press release, the union claim the overtime ban is the least disruptive action members can pursue at this point in time. Since the beginning of 2025, employees have been working without a valid labour contract.
In October, the ICEATCA implemented a five-hour strike which affected 15 flights through Keflavík airport.
