The Hungarian passport has moved up to sixth place in global rankings, meaning that Hungarian citizens can now travel to even more countries without a visa, the latest Henley Passport Index reports.
The ranking is based on up-to-date data and is updated monthly. Currently, the Henley Passport Index compares the visa-free access of 199 different passports to 227 travel destinations.
Singapore tops the 2025 ranking, with its citizens being able to travel to 193 countries without a visa. It is followed by South Korea (190 countries) and Japan (189 countries). Fourth place is a tie between several European countries (Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Spain, and Switzerland) all of which offer visa-free travel to 188 countries.

As a Hungarian citizen, you can currently travel to 186 countries without a visa. This is an improvement of one place from the previous seventh place.
Hungary is not alone in this position, citizens of Greece, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, and Sweden enjoy the same level of freedom of travel.
