First Seven Ministers of the Tisza Government Announced

The Tisza government will be formed with sixteen ministries, Péter Magyar announced on Monday. The prime minister-elect named seven ministers at the afternoon press conference held following the first meeting of the Tisza Party’s parliamentary caucus.

The election winner Tisza Party has begun taking concrete steps to form a government: Péter Magyar announced that the new cabinet is expected to consist of sixteen ministries. In a video posted on his social media page, the party chairman and future prime minister detailed the agenda of the first caucus meeting as well as the main elements of the government structure.

The Tisza Party’s 141-member parliamentary faction held its inaugural meeting on Monday. This is the largest parliamentary group since the transition to democracy (1990), which, in Magyar’s words, could play a decisive role in revitalizing parliamentary work.

At the meeting, a formal decision was made on the proposal that Andrea Bujdosó serve as the faction leader, while Ágnes Forsthoffer will assume the position of Speaker of the National Assembly.

As Magyar announced after the meeting, the Tisza Party’s parliamentary group unanimously supported the nomination of both.

Szívből gratulálok Bujdosó Andreának, a TISZA frakcióvezetőjének és Forsthoffer Ágnesnek, a Magyar Országgyűlés leendő elnökének.
Mindkettőjük jelölését egyhangúlag támogatta a TISZA frakció.

He emphasized that the goal of the nominations is for the National Assembly to become a venue for genuine political and professional debates, where the interests of the country and its citizens are at the center of decision-making. As he put it, the new leaders represent a “human, political, and professional guarantee” for strengthening democratic functioning.

At the afternoon press conference, the party chairman also announced the names of the first seven ministers of the new government.

Anita Orbán will head the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while András Kármán will take the post of Minister of Finance. István Kapitány will lead the Ministry of Economy and Energy. Zsolt Hegedűs will head the Ministry of Health, László Gajdos will lead the Ministry of the Environment, and Romulusz Ruszin-Szendi is set to become Minister of Defense. Szabolcs Bóna will head the Ministry of Agriculture and Food.

All of the announced ministerial nominees have accepted the offer.
