Corvinus University Finance Degree Ranked Among World’s Best

The English-language Finance Master’s program at the Corvinus University of Budapest has become the only program from Hungary to be included among the world’s best finance master’s degrees, the university announced on Tuesday.

The program improved on its result from last year, moving up six places and ranking 63rd this year in the Financial Times’ global Masters in Finance top 70 ranking. Business schools participate in the ranking on a voluntary basis.

Corvinus also improved its position in terms of value for money, rising one place to 14th, ahead of institutions such as the London Business School and Italy’s Bocconi University.

The list includes 70 of the world’s leading finance master’s programs. The evaluation criteria cover a wide range of areas, from the salaries and salary increases of graduates three years after completion, to career progression, as well as the international proportion of students and faculty.

In the statement, Bruno van Pottelsberghe, Rector of Corvinus University, emphasized that they are proudly representing Hungary among the top 70 finance master’s programs in the Financial Times ranking. He said the result both confirms the international standard of their training and shows that it provides students with a real advantage in building their careers.

The university’s statement noted that the French ESCP Business School tops the ranking. Programs from 20 countries are represented, with the highest number coming from the United Kingdom, France, and the United States.

From Central and Eastern Europe, only two Polish universities are included in the list alongside Corvinus.

According to the Financial Times ranking, Corvinus finance master’s graduates surveyed three years after completion currently earn an average of 20 million forints  (57,250 euros) per year, and their salaries have increased by 62% compared to their starting wages.

Corvinus University of Budapest is Hungary’s leading university in business, economics, and social sciences. Around 8,000 students currently study there, including 2,000 international students. The institution maintains close partnerships with 170 universities worldwide.
