World-renowned Hungarian model Barbara Palvin has spoken candidly about her recent health challenges, surprising fans with a hospital photo shared on her Instagram account.
In the heartfelt post, she revealed that she underwent surgery due to a suspected case of endometriosis — a painful and often misunderstood condition affecting many women — and for the first time, she’s experienced what a “normal” period feels like. Now, she is encouraging others to listen to their bodies and seek help when something feels off.
As Index reported, the 31-year-old model posted the emotional message early Sunday afternoon, accompanied by an image taken during her hospital stay. She detailed her years-long battle with extreme fatigue, debilitating pain, and irregular, heavy menstruation — symptoms she had long dismissed as normal.
Fatigue, severe pain, heavy and irregular bleeding, nights spent on the bathroom floor. I thought that was just how it worked for me,”
she wrote.

Despite regularly attending gynecological checkups, Ms Palvin said the possibility of endometriosis was never raised. It wasn’t until a doctor recommended she consult a specialist that she began to seek answers.
I thought that if I had endometriosis, I would’ve known by now,”she admitted, adding that the condition often doesn’t show up in standard gynecological exams.
After three months of testing, she finally underwent surgery. “Since then, I have experienced what a lighter period feels like, and now I know the difference,” she shared.

The model also revealed she took time off after her surgery to focus on healing. “That’s why I spent the last three months resting and fully recovering. I am excited about this new chapter of my life, and I am ready to return to work.”
Her return to the public eye was met with an outpouring of support. Within minutes, her post garnered thousands of likes and a flood of well-wishes from fans and followers, grateful for her honesty and courage in sharing her experience.
