Thad Jean wins 2025 PFL welterweight championship, stays undefeated

Overview:

Thad Jean, the undefeated Haitian American MMA fighter, won the 2025 PFL Welterweight World Tournament Championship in Atlantic City. Jean secured a five-round unanimous decision over Logan Storley, solidifying his rising profile in the global fight scene.

He told you he was going to win—and that’s exactly what he did.

Thad Jean, the undefeated Haitian American fighter who entered the PFL tournament as an alternate, delivered on his word Friday night by capturing the 2025 PFL Welterweight World Tournament Championship. Jean earned a dominant unanimous decision victory over former interim Bellator champion Logan Storley at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, improving his professional record to 11-0.

Jean’s performance reflected the precision and poise he’s become known for. Storley leaned heavily on his wrestling throughout the bout, but Jean’s striking and control of range kept him in command. With clean combinations, smart footwork and calculated pressure, Jean kept Storley on the defensive from start to finish. All three judges scored the bout clearly in Jean’s favor.

The win earned Jean both the championship belt and a $500,000 prize, capping off a standout season that brought him from dark horse contender to the top of the welterweight division.

In a pre-fight interview with The Haitian Times, Jean said: “I’m about to win a championship. Not because of my own power, but because of God’s power.” His faith, along with his Haitian identity, have been cornerstones of his public journey.

“He’s a talented young kid. Good striker, a lot of power, athletic. Does a good job in all positions,” Storley said in an interview with MMA News two days before the fight.

Friday night’s win was a milestone for Jean and for the Haitian MMA community that’s followed his rise.

“I don’t care who you are. I don’t care what your name is. What your record is,” Jean said in a post fight interview. “Once you go into the cage, it’s me and you and the silverback is coming out and I’m coming out better each and every time.”

The PFL World Tournament Finals will continue on Aug. 15 at Bojangles Coliseum in Charlotte, North Carolina. Jean is not scheduled to compete on that card. His next fight has not yet been announced.

“I’m only going to get better,” he said.  “This is only the beginning.”
