Preparations are underway for the first sitting of the 13th Parliament scheduled to commence this afternoon at 2. The venue, the Arthur Chung Conference Centre (ACCC), is a hive of activity featuring a blend of rigorous security sweeps and setting up of systems.
Security measures are also intense, with a strong presence of police officers inspecting the grounds and the dome. Officers were earlier this morning utilizing sniffer dogs to thoroughly peruse the area, ensuring the safety and security of all Parliamentarians, staff, and attendees before the proceedings begin.
Meanwhile, parliamentary staff are working inside the dome to complete the final organizational touches. The focus is currently on seating arrangements, with staff carefully placing name tags for Members of Parliament and other officials.
