-to boost transmission, distribution network
The Guyana Power & Light Inc (GPL) took another step forward with its Infrastructural Develop-ment and Modernisation Programme when it signed two contracts this week totalling more than US$235 million, (in excess of $50.5 billion) that will impact the utility’s transmission and distribution network.
A release from GPL yesterday said that the Agree-ments signed were: 1) a US$199 million contract with Kalpataru Projects International Limited (KPIL), signed on Mon-day, November 17; and 2) a US$35.93 million contract with China National Machinery Import & Ex-port Corporation (CMC), signed on Wednesday November 19.
