Tsunami drill at MBIA: Wednesday, 5 November 2025

The Grenada Airports Authority (GAA) advises the general public that a Tsunami drill will be conducted at the Maurice Bishop International Airport (MBIA) on Wednesday, 5 November 2025, from 9 am to 10:30 am.

This exercise is being held in recognition of World Tsunami Awareness Day and forms part of the GAA’s ongoing efforts to strengthen preparedness and ensure the safety of all airport users in the event of a natural disaster.

Please note the following important information:

  • The drill will last approximately 1.5 hours
  • In the event of a real emergency during the exercise, the drill will be immediately stopped, and normal emergency procedures will be activated
  • Normal airport operations will continue throughout the exercise. The airport will remain open, and flights will not be disrupted

The public is therefore advised that any observed emergency movements or activities during this period are part of the planned simulation exercise.

The GAA thanks the travelling public, airport stakeholders, and the surrounding community for their understanding and cooperation as we continue to enhance safety and emergency response capabilities.
