The Ministry of Infrastructure, Public Utilities, Civil Aviation and Transportation informs the public of the temporary closure of the Mt Hartman byroad, located after the Minimart road and leading onto Lance Aux Epines main road, St George, effective Monday, 24 August 2026, to facilitate critical road development and upgrade works.
The temporary closure is necessary to allow contractors to undertake extensive road improvement works aimed at enhancing the safety, durability, and overall quality of the roadway. These improvements form part of the Government’s ongoing commitment to upgrading the national road network and providing safer and more efficient transportation infrastructure for residents and motorists.
The road will remain closed for a period of 5 weeks, with works scheduled to continue until Monday, 28 September 2026.
During this period, motorists and residents are advised to utilise alternative routes where available and to follow all posted traffic signs, barriers, and directions from authorised personnel. The ministry urges all road users to exercise caution when travelling in the vicinity of the work zone and to allow additional travel time to accommodate any required detours.
The Ministry of Infrastructure apologises for any inconvenience caused by these necessary works and thanks the public for its patience, understanding, and cooperation as efforts continue to improve the nation’s transportation infrastructure.
