Minister for Foreign Affairs Honourable Joseph Andall participated in the Council of Ministers of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) meeting held on the margins of the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.
The meeting convened Foreign Ministers and senior officials from OECS Member States to engage in strategic discussions on key regional priorities, including climate resilience, sustainable development, and collective diplomatic engagement. Ministers also reviewed initiatives aimed at strengthening OECS’s presence in multilateral forums and advancing shared interests on the global stage.
Minister Andall reaffirmed Grenada’s unwavering commitment to regional cooperation, emphasising the importance of unified representation in addressing global challenges that disproportionately affect small island developing states (SIDS). He underscored the need for coordinated advocacy to ensure that the voices of OECS Member States are heard and respected in international decision-making processes.
The OECS Council of Ministers meeting served as a critical platform for reinforcing regional solidarity, enhancing policy coherence, and promoting the collective interests of the Eastern Caribbean within the multilateral system.
