The Government of Grenada is pleased to announce the appointment of Kamal Shaileshbhai Shah as the Honorary Consul of Grenada to the Republic of Kenya.
On 16 July 2026, Shah formally presented his credentials to His Excellency Dr Musalia Mudavadi, EGH, Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Kenya.
This important milestone marks a new chapter in the growing relationship between Grenada and Kenya and reflects the shared commitment of both nations to strengthening diplomatic, economic, and people-to-people ties.
The appointment follows discussions between His Excellency Dr William Samoei Ruto, PhD, CGH,
President of the Republic of Kenya, and Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell of Grenada during the Africa Caricom Summit held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, in September 2025. Those discussions underscored the importance of deepening cooperation between African and Caribbean nations through enhanced political dialogue, trade, investment, and cultural exchange.
As Honorary Consul, Shah will play a key role in advancing bilateral relations and facilitating collaboration across several strategic sectors, including:
- Trade and investment promotion
- Financial technology (FinTech) and digital innovation
- Climate action and environmental sustainability
- Tourism development and cultural exchange
- Energy cooperation, with a particular focus on geothermal energy; and
- Agriculture and food security
The establishment of Grenada’s Honorary Consulate in Kenya is expected to create new opportunities for public and private sector partnerships, while strengthening connections between Africa and the Caribbean.
Grenada and Kenya share common aspirations for sustainable development, economic transformation, and enhanced international cooperation. The appointment of Kamal Shaileshbhai Shah reflects the mutual commitment of both nations to building enduring partnerships that deliver tangible benefits for their people.
The Government of Grenada looks forward to working closely with the Government of Kenya and other stakeholders to further strengthen this important relationship and unlock new opportunities for collaboration, growth, and shared prosperity.
