Job Summary

The Grenada Building & Loan Association is seeking an experienced and principled Director to join our board and contribute to the effective governance, strategic direction, and long-term success of the association. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with fellow directors and the executive team, ensuring that the association operates in the best interests of its members while meeting all regulatory and statutory obligations. The applicant must be a member of the association.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development, approval, and oversight of the association’s strategy
  • Provide independent judgment, constructive objection, and expert guidance to the Board and Executive Team
  • Ensure robust governance, risk management, and internal control frameworks are in place
  • Oversee financial performance, capital adequacy, and regulatory compliance in accordance with the Society’s Ordinance and International Financial Reporting Standards.
  • Uphold the association’s values, ethical standards, and member focus

Skills and Experience

  • Senior leadership or board-level experience, ideally within financial services, banking, and a regulated environment
  • Strong understanding of corporate governance, risk, and regulatory frameworks
  • High levels of integrity, independence, and professionalism
  • Strategic thinker with sound commercial and financial acumen
  • Ability to challenge constructively while working collaboratively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Sound judgment and confidence to influence at Board level
  • Willingness to dedicate the required time and preparation to the role
