The Grenada Amateur Swimming Association (GASA), in partnership with the Ministry of Sports, successfully hosted its annual Inter-Primary Swimming Competition on 1 July 2026 and Inter-Collegiate Swimming Competition on 2 July 2026 at the Good Hope Swimming Pool.
The championships provided an exciting finale to the academic year, showcasing the athletic ability, determination, and sportsmanship of student swimmers from across the island. The Inter-Primary competition featured 12 schools representing communities throughout Grenada, while 7 secondary/tertiary schools competed in the Inter-Collegiate Championships.
Emerging as the top performers were Alpha Junior School, which swept both the male and female titles in the Inter-Primary Championships, while Presentation Brothers’ College claimed the male title and St Joseph’s Convent, St George’s secured the female title in the Inter-Collegiate Championships.
The annual championships continue to play a vital role in identifying young talent and providing aspiring swimmers with a pathway into competitive swimming and national team representation.
President of GASA Nataly Regis expressed her excitement about the future of the sport. “It is truly inspiring to witness the continued growth of swimming in Grenada. Each year we see more schools embracing the sport and more young athletes demonstrating incredible potential. With the construction of Grenada’s first competition-standard swimming pool now underway, we are entering a new era for aquatics in our country. This facility will create greater opportunities for athlete development, hosting competitions, and elevating Grenada’s presence on the regional and international stage. We are excited about what lies ahead and look forward to welcoming even more schools and swimmers to these championships in the years to come.”

The association also expresses its appreciation to the Ministry of Sports for its continued partnership in staging these championships, which remain an important fixture on the national school sporting calendar.
As another successful school swimming season comes to a close, GASA looks forward to expanding participation in 2027 and continuing its mission of discovering, nurturing, and developing the next generation of Grenadian swimmers.
