Distribution Manager reports to Sales Manager 

The incumbent will be responsible for managing the warehousing and distribution services by exercising initiative to ensure the company’s strategic goals are achieved. 

Key Duties:

• Develop and execute the operational procedures for activities such as picking, packing, verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current
• Coordinate order cycle, monitors quality, quantity, cost and efficiency of the movement and storage of goods
• Ensure that stock located in the warehouse under his/her responsibility is always accurate, in verification with an official stock count
• Coordinate with department heads to ensure coordination of warehousing and distribution activities with other functions such as production, sales, finance and purchasing
• Implement the company’s strategic plan as well as contribute to and be involved in the evaluation and analysis of the business objectives
• Develop and maintain a culture of safety awareness and safe work practices among subordinate team members, and ensures that the work environment is hazard-free and the personal protective equipment is always available and worn in the prescribed manner
• Establish performance objectives of subordinate staff and identifies training and developmental needs

Qualification and/or Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics or other related field
• Practical experience in Total Quality Management or techniques in Warehousing Operations is highly desirable
• At least 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment at a supervisory level, preferably within the warehousing, distribution or supply chain areas

Knowledge and Skills:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software
• Effective communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organisational skills and time management skills, self-motivated
• Good analytical and numerical skills
• Attention to detail
