National Defense Minister Nikos Dendias on Tuesday had a meeting with US Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle at the defense ministry. In a post on the social media platform X, Dendias noted:
“The focus was on the announcement of the partnership between Greece and the National Guard of the State of Florida, in the context of the State Partnership Program Agreement.
I asked the U.S. Ambassador to convey my thanks to the U.S. Secretary of War Mr. Pete Hegseth, also underlining her valuable contribution towards reaching this agreement.
In addition, we discussed further deepening the Greek-US strategic defense relations.”

On her part, US Ambassador Kimberly Guilfoyle posted on X:

No details about the agreement have leaked to the press, so far.
The new partnership comes a few weeks after the Greek Migration Ministry announced that its staff are being trained by US Homeland Security officers
