The Greek Foreign Ministry announced on Thursday the relocation of its embassy in Tehran to Baku in Azerbaijan. the move is due to security reasons.
Spokesperson Liana Zotou said this move is attributed to the deteriorating security conditions in the Iranian capital, which no longer allow the safe operation of the diplomatic mission.
According to information, there are no requests for the repatriation of Greek citizens from Iran, as the number residing there is very small and mainly concerns family members and staff of the diplomatic mission.
The details of the relocation are not being made public for security reasons and the process is ongoing.
