Federation of Greek Elderly Citizen Clubs of Melbourne and Victoria enters new phase with emergency assembly and elections

The Federation of Greek Elderly Citizen Clubs of Melbourne and Victoria is entering a new phase, as it prepares for an extraordinary general assembly and elections to appoint a new Administrative Council, following the heated disputes that marred its most recent meeting.

The crucial process has been scheduled for Friday, 3 October at 11am, at the Pan-Macedonian Association building, 470 Queens Parade, Clifton Hill, where members will elect a new administration for the 2025–2027 term.

According to the announcement sent to Neos Kosmos, the interim leadership is calling on all members and representatives of clubs to participate en masse, stressing that “the future of the Federation depends on all of us.”

The recent developments, which led to the formation of an interim council amid disagreements, have caused unease among members. Many see the October 3 elections as a final opportunity for stability and renewal, allowing the Federation to continue its role in strengthening and representing the elderly Greek community.

For more information about the process, members can contact interim president Charalambos Protopsaltis (0423 844 610), vice president Zina Axarli (0451 536 222), or public relations officer Kostas Alavera (0419 389 200).
