21 Greeks included in the Forbes List of Billionaires 2026

The Forbes List of the richest billionaires in the world for 2026 was published on Tuesday, March 10, 2026. The list includes 21 Greeks from the shipping and business sectors.

73-year-old Vicky Safra and her four children are ranked No. 94 in the overall Forbes ranking and in the highest position among Greek rich people with a net worth of $27.1 billion, after inheriting their fortune from her late husband and father, banker Joseph Safra, who passed away in December 2020.

Following is Maria Angelicoussi with a fortune of $7.5 billion at No. 509 in the overall Forbes ranking. The Greek shipowner’s fortune in 2023 amounted to $5.6 billion, in 2024 it increased to $6.4 billion and in 2025 it had reached $7.6 billion.

Vangelis Marinakis, with a fortune of $7 billion from $4.9 billion last year, rose to No. 567 on the list from position 734 in 2025.

The Greek top 5 is completed by shipowners George Economou and George Prokopiou, at No. 806 and 908 respectively.

Next is shipowner Andreas Martinos at No. 972 with a fortune of $4.4 billion and the “king of copper” Telis Mystakidis with a fortune of $4.2 billion at No. 1011.

The Greek top 10 is completed by: Spyros Latsis and Family at No. 1108 with a fortune of $3.9 billion, Panagiotis Tsakos and Family at No. 1189 with a fortune of $3.6 billion and Philip Niarchos at No. 1504 with a fortune of $2.8 billion.

Included in the Forbes List 2026, are threefour Greeks owners of football clubs. These are Vangelis Marinakis – Olympiakos FC, Aristotelis Mystakidis – new owner of PAOK FC, and Giannis Alafouzos – Panathinaikos FC.
