St Kitts and Nevis receives two State-of-the-Art Electric Buses

St Kitts and Nevis: Two state-of-the-art electric buses were donated to the people of St. Kitts and Nevis by Tron-E Energy Technology out of Taiwan on Wednesday. These buses, engineered and used across Asia and the United States will transport elderly and children across the country. 

Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew who is on his visit to Republic of China (Taiwan) and shared his diplomatic activities. He said that the business will ensure safer, cleaner and more reliable mobility for two of the groups they value most. The donation was made through the partnership between the government of St Kitts and Nevis and Tron-E Energy Technology. 

The partnership also aligns squarely with the Sustainable Island State Agenda as St Kitts and Nevis transition to modern, climate-smart transportation. He extended his gratitude to Tron-E Energy Technology and the government and people of Taiwan for their continued support and friendship. 

He said that the government is committed to development which will remain meaningful and deeply appreciated. The buses are set to arrive in early 2026 which is considered another significant step toward a greener and more resilient St Kitts and Nevis. 

PM Dr Terrance Drew also toured Tron-E Energy Technology with his delegation as the company is considered a pioneer in sustainable electric mobility based in Taiwan. He lauded their work and said that their work aligns perfectly with the national push to build capacity in EV maintenance, electronic vehicle technology and solar PV installation. 

He said that the company is also training the young generation to enhance their work for the sustainable future of St Kitts and Nevis. PM Drew also had a discussion with the President and Vice President which was focused on possible partnerships, expanded technical training and opportunities for deeper collaboration as they advance their Sustainable Island State Agenda. 

PM Drew also attended a special high-level luncheon which was hosted by Foreign Minister Dr. Lin Chia-Lung, alongside key leaders from government and the private sector. The conversations of the meeting depended upon several matters of concerns, outlining that the friendship with St Kitts and Nevis is deep, genuine and continually opening new doors for the people.
