The Employees of the Environmental Supervision Department of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture revealed the fact of poaching in Khemo Kartli.
The Environmental Supervision Department of Georgia shared the details of these facts on its official Facebook Page on Friday, November 7, 2025. The Department also shared some glimpses of the facts along with their details.
According to the details shared by the Environment Supervision Department of Georgia, it should be noted that near the village Ktsia of Dmanisi municipality, on the river Khrami, citizens were fishing from inflatable boats using the forbidden means – electric weapons.
The poachers had illegally obtained up to 60 kg of different types of fish, including a species of trout protected by a “red strip”. The fact contains the signs of criminal offenses. The materials, for further response, were sent to the appropriate order.
Electronic weapons have harmful effects not only on fish, but also on all living organisms in the water ecosystem. In addition, it poses a threat to human life and health.
