Kutaisi, Georgia: The project of a new multi-purpose sports palace is underway in Kutaisi. The Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, got acquainted with the project of a multi-function sports palace with 5000 viewe rs.
The Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze shared the glimpses of his inspection of an infrastructural project on his official Facebook page on December 17, 2025, Wednesday. The PM also shared a small note about the project along with its glimpses.
The project, which will be implemented by the Municipal Development Fund of the Ministry of Infrastructure, includes the construction of main and backup gyms, training area, swimming pool, referee and international delegations rooms, conference hall, press work space, and recreation area.
will be able to host national and international sports competitions, as well as conferences and various events. A new sports palace will be built in Kutaisi, near the former parliament building,Kutaisi Sports Palace where the Municipal Development Fund plans to build a new multi-purpose park.
According to the Georgian Prime Minister, the park will be set on approximately 70 hectares and will combine children’s play areas, sports fields and exercise spaces, a network of pedestrian and bike trails, cultural and educational spaces, an outdoor stage, pavilions and event grounds.
In Kutaisi Park, as well, shall house an information center, pergolas, chess tables, decorative lakes, and fountains.
Together with the Minister of Infrastructure Revaz Sokhadze, he also got acquainted with the rehabilitation project of Kutaisi Pupil-Youth Park, which considers the construction of pedestrian and bicycle paths, the construction of new green lanes, the improvement of the area, the placement of small architectural debris, and the upgrade of the lighting system.
The park will also have children’s and sports zones, picnic areas, and an amphitheater. Minister Kobakhidze inspected the ongoing infrastructural projects in Kutaisi together with members of the government and parliament, the state envoy in Imereti, and local government representatives.
