New Medical Complex under construction in Batumi

A large-scale medical infrastructure project is being implemented in Batumi. The Chairman of the Government of Adjara, Zurab Pataradze, visited the spot and got acquainted with the works.

Along with Zurab Pataradze, the Minister of Refugees, Labor, Health and Social Protection, Mikheil Sarjveladze, the representatives of the Georgian Parliament and the Government of Ajara were also there.

The Government of Adjara shared the glimpses of the Chairman’s visit on its official Facebook Page on May 30, 2026. The Government also shared a small note about the meeting along with its glimpses.

The Prime Minister noted that the implementation of the project will increase access to quality medical services and enable the population to access international standard healthcare services.

“One of the top priorities of our country and government is strengthening the health care system, developing modern medical infrastructure, and improving the quality of services.” This is the purpose of the construction of a unified medical complex on the territory of the republican hospital in Batumi. The projects are in the active phase. At the end of the current year, facilities will start to be operated gradually, which will significantly improve both the quality of medical services and their availability,” Zurab Pataradze noted.

Within the project, the Emergency Situations Coordination and Emergency Management Center and N1 Multifunctional Polyclinic will be built, and the Batumi Republic Clinical Hospital will also be expanded.

At this stage, the construction part of the buildings has been completed in the Emergency Situations Center and Polyclinic. Facade, interior, engineering, fire, and heating-ventilation systems installation works are underway. Within the framework of the Republican Hospital expansion project, the construction part is completed, and the black frame is being arranged.

The medical complex will be a modern, fully adapted, and multifunctional space to meet the needs of both patients and medical staff.

Malkhaz Zhorzhikashvili, Director of Medical Holding of Georgia, representatives of the local government and medical field, got acquainted with the progress of the project.
