The joint pilot project of the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth – “Military Case” is being actively implemented.
In order to raise awareness about the Georgian Defense Forces, popularize it, and teach young people about military cases, the subject is taught in 137 public schools across the country. Grade 9 students are being taught the curriculum by officers of the Defence Forces who have undergone proper pedagogical training for the mentioned project.
Cadariga officer teacher was at the 124th public school named after Mikheil Javakhishvili in Tbilisi, where the subject “Military Case” is held once a week. The subject of the lesson was a soldier’s equipment.
“Military Affairs” provides students with comprehensive knowledge of the Georgian Defense Forces, military education and military service, handling of weapons and combat materials. The program also includes first aid detection and emergency response skills.
After going through the theoretical program, students visit military bases as part of the “One Day in the Army” project and get to know the working conditions of military personnel on the spot. Also, students who have passed the subject “Military Case” are given the advantage to attend the summer “Army Camp”.
In a joint project between the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth, 107 teachers and cadres officers are involved, who have been trained to work with students.
A cadre officer, who wishes to participate in the pilot project, can apply to the civil reception of the Ministry of Defense (D. Uznadze’s 117a).
The basic criteria of cadre officers are:
• At least 10 years of service in the Defense Forces;
• Military training (officer’s basic course, captain’s course, commander-staff course, graduation from the war college will be considered as an advantage);
• In the case of a sergeant, at least the sergeant’s basic course (preferably different sergeant career courses).
• Candidates will participate in the pilot project “Military Case” after meeting the set criteria and successful completion of the training jointly organized by the Ministry of Defense and Education.
