Georgia expands rural healthcare with new clinics in villages

Georgia: Access to primary health care is increasing even more – new outpatient clinics are opening in villages, ensuring that residents in remote areas can receive timely medical services closer to their homes.

In Lanchkhuti, in the villages Nigvziani and Jurukveti, new outpatient clinics were set up. Medical facilities are built and equipped to modern standards, which will significantly improve access to preventive services.

Construction of outpatient clinics is in an active phase in Samegrelo, Guria, 3and Imereti villages. In 2026, residents of Nojikhevi, Chitatskari, and Mukhuri villages will receive primary health care services in dispensaries of new, modern standards. Construction, in the near future, will begin in Jvarsa and Sachino.

A new outpatient clinic is planned in the Ozurgeti village hall. In Sachkheri village, Argveti, after the construction works are completed, the outpatient clinic will serve more than 4,500 villagers.

With the finance of the Ministry of Health, Medical Holding is building rural outpatient clinics in 15 villages across the country, for which more than 4 million Gel is allocated from the state budget.

The Minister of Health, together with the parliamentary and local government representatives, inspected the repair works throughout the country.

Mikheil Sarjveladze met with the medical staff and noted that the state continues to provide geographical access to medical services, with special attention to strengthening primary health care, which is a prerequisite for disease prevention and early detection. By his definition, the construction and repair of outpatient clinics are carried out as a priority in villages where there is an urgent need for infrastructure improvement.
