The UNITE Movement for Change will convene a Regional Congress next week on February 14 and 15, 2026, in Banjul, marking a major step toward building a national agenda driven directly by the people of The Gambia.
The gathering will bring together democratically selected representatives from every ward, village, and constituency across all regions.
Delegates will carry the mandate to translate local concerns and priorities into concrete regional plans, forming a foundation for bottom-up governance and community-driven decision-making.
In a statement, the movement emphasized that the congress is a people’s platform, designed to ensure accountability, inclusivity, and practical solutions to national challenges.
UNITE said that the outcomes will feed directly into its national policy framework, shaping the movement’s strategies toward unity, equitable development, and self-determination.
The movement has called on communities and local assemblies to immediately finalise the selection of their delegates, stressing that an inclusive and transparent process is essential for effective representation at the congress.
The UNITE Movement for Change describes itself as a grassroots initiative dedicated to fostering national unity, citizen empowerment, and principled action, working to translate public aspirations into tangible change across The Gambia.
