Three people, including a 13-year-old boy, were injured in a suspected hit-and-run incident in Brusubi during the early hours of Saturday, police have confirmed.

According to the Gambia Police Force, the incident occurred between 4:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. and involved 18-year-old Alpha Jallow of Babylon, 13-year-old Babucarr Secka of Coastal Road, and an unidentified male who was unconscious when the incident was reported.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the victims were struck by a vehicle whose driver fled the scene without stopping to render assistance.

The injured victims were initially taken to a nearby health facility before being referred to Ndemban Hospital in Bakau, where they are currently receiving treatment.

Police in Brusubi have launched an investigation to identify and locate the driver responsible.

Authorities are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or has relevant information to contact 9968885 or report to the nearest police station.
