Pompeh Bi and Blackstars KM booked their places in the Brikama Sports Committee (BSC) Nawettan proper after thrilling penalty shootouts in the ongoing qualifiers.
In the first encounter, Marico FC took the lead against Pompeh Bi through an early penalty. However, Pompeh Bi fought back to level the score before halftime. Despite several chances in the second half, neither side could find the net, forcing a dramatic post-match penalty shootout. Pompeh Bi emerged victorious in a marathon 8-7 shootout, securing their passage to the next stage.
Later in the day, Blackstars KM faced Maxmiral FC in a tightly contested match that ended 0-0 in regulation time. The outcome was decided by penalties, where Blackstars KM prevailed 4-3, keeping their hopes alive of advancing in the Nawettan competition.
Maxmiral FC, meanwhile, were left to regroup and try again next season, having fallen short despite years of effort in the qualifiers.
The wins provide Pompeh Bi and Blackstars KM with fresh momentum, as both teams aim to make a significant impact in this year’s BSC summer Nawettan. For Blackstars KM, in particular, the victory offers a chance to correct past errors and chase their long-standing dream of progressing deeper into the tournament.
